took off guard now belt squeaks

Hey folks! Been riding almost daily now. A few weeks ago I took off my belt guard. (Scroll down to see thread). Well, my belt never squeaked before I had the guard off. The front pulley sometimes "clicked", but the belt never squeaked.

Now, for the past week, I've noticed the belt squeaking. How can just removing the guard cause this? What can I do to stop it? It's just annoying me.
